Brazil Comic-con took place this past weekend in São Paulo (Brazil) and the biggest news that immediately broke was a supposed “first look” at Sony’s Venom solo film. Being affectionally called project #wearevenom, fans around the world took to social media to get their first glimpse at Tom Hardy donning the mask of the infamous symbiote of the same name.

The result – not really what we expected but still exciting all the same. Director Ruben Samuel Fleisher breaks his silence and even allows a surprise appearance from Eddie Brock himself (Hardy). Take a look:
