GAMES: Quick Review for A Nostalgic Return of a Capcom Classic

If you haven’t guessed by the title(or seen the countless ads on IG and Facebook) then surprise! Capcom released Mega-Man X Legacy Collection 1 & 2 last week and what a glorious and nostalgic return it’s had. The series which debuted in 1993 and its predecessors, X2-X8, received upgrades in various ways across the individual titles. From high resolution filters to full HD remasters(X7 & X8 only), new music and bonus material for hardcore fans.

I won’t lie to anyone. I bought this collection purely for nostalgic purposes. And at first I had mixed feelings about it mainly because I remembered just how bad I was at it. But nonetheless I persevered and kept playing because I couldn’t stop. As terrible as I am at these games I did have a lot of fun reminiscing through old bosses and finding old secrets, even down to getting the infamous Hadouken in X1 and the Shoryuken in X2. Yes, the very same signature moves from Capcom’s Street Fighter franchise.

This a fun collection to have and it will keep you busy for a while, unless you just like to speedrun through everything. Hey, more power to you, my friend. I’ve enjoyed getting to play this series again for sure. Is it worth the price of admission? Eh.

I’ll say this. If you loved it at the beginning then you’ll love it moreso now.

Keep playing life your way!
