So, ladies and gents, I am pretty ecstatic about Darksiders III finally having a release date. The franchise upon it’s inception and release in 2010 has garnered a cult-like following, and for good reason. The first Darksiders installment received solid scores from critics and fans alike. Taking inspirations from games such as Devil May Cry, God of War, and The Legend of Zelda series. Darksiders has a great narrative as well as phenomenal voice actors including the one and only Mark Hamill.

Anyway, Darksiders III is set during the same time as her brother War’s imprisonment before he returns to Earth and also introduces us to our third horseman, Fury. Fury is primarily a powerful magic user who is sent to Earth to take down the Seven Deadly Sins. Fury’s return to our world will offer players another open-world environment similar to the one introduced in Darksiders II. As well as new enemies and weapons. Fury is considered the most unpredictable and mysterious of the horsemen siblings. On a side note, not much is known about the fourth and final horseman Strife. He has only been mentioned once or twice in the series so it’ll be interesting to see how he is introduced.

Darksiders III has been long awaited by the fans and although it seemed doubtful for a long time that the third installment would even make it out of development. Thanks to THQ Nordic continuing the franchise after Nordic Games bought out THQ.

Thanks to a leak from Amazon, Darksiders III release date is scheduled for December 31, 2018. Although, possibly, this could be a temporary goal or placeholder, the developers at Gunfire Games and THQ Nordic have said that 2018 is the target. So for now let’s just be excited that there is something we have to look forward to. But to appease those who either have not played the franchise before or if you’re looking to get back into it THQ Nordic released the remastered editions of both Darksiders: Warmastered edition and Darksiders II: Deathinitive edition earlier this year and is a fantastic way to discover what this franchise has to offer.
